Doncaster IBC hosted the Bowls Competitions as part of the Special Olympics

being staged in and around Sheffield during August 2017 organised by the

Special Olympics Committee  Great Britain.

Competitors came from Scotland, Wales, North of England, South of England,

Yorkshire and Humberside. In total there were 78 competitors.

It was a fantastic event which everyone enjoyed both competitors and spectators.

All the competitors behaved impecably.

There was some fantastic bowling and credit is due to the coaches from all the regions.

Shuffles

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 15th 2017 in the LOUNGE AT 7.00pm

Our ladies were once again successful in winning the ladies North Eastern Ladies League managing to win by shots difference.

Denise Green and Jean Winchcombe didn't quite manage to win the pairs league but played well. They came runners-up.

It was a similar story in the triple competition when Joan Fee, Sheila Dawson, and Jan Spruce just failed to win being beaten into second place by some very good bowling.

This is an Open Meeting, which means that non-members are also permitted to attend but will not have the power to vote.

Although there is no official agenda for this meeting as it is to be an Open Forum type meeting, the main content and purpose of said meeting will be the decision on whether the Club should have the committee/committees suggested at this year's AGM and what powers and responsibilities these committees will have.

The decisions passed at this meeting will define the future of YOUR Club as big changes may  happen as a direct result. Meetings of this sort have been poorly attended in the past and we cannot stress enough the importance in attending this meeting in order to have your say and making your vote count, but also to understand what changes are proposed.

Many Members have come to play in the Winter Leagues in September - October time who have neither attended the AGM nor played throught the summer. They then notice changes that affect them directly and ask "When did this happen?" This year is your chance to exercise your rights as a member of Doncaster Indoor Bowling Club and have a say in the way we go forward together in the new season.

Thank you in advance for your time and co-operation.
