Doncaster IBC is hosting the Bowls Competitions which is part of the Special Olympics

being staged in and around Sheffield during August 2017. Consequently the Club will be

closed from Sunday 6th August until 4.00pm Saturday 12th August. This will mean that

there are no League matches, nor will there be any casual bowling for the whole week.

The Bowls Drive held on Saturday evenings will go ahead as usual on the 12th August.

Due to the number of competitors and their support staff, together with the organisation

people from the Special Olympics Committee, the Club will be full of people. Due to the

fire regulations etc the number of people on the premises will be restricted to those closely

involved. Unfortunately this will mean very limited access for Members; we are advised

that entry will be by invitation only. Passes can only be obtained from Special Olympics

Committee.

More information will be made known as soon as the Club has been advised.

Our ladies were once again successful in winning the ladies North Eastern Ladies League managing to win by shots difference.

Denise Green and Jean Winchcombe didn't quite manage to win the pairs league but played well. They came runners-up.

It was a similar story in the triple competition when Joan Fee, Sheila Dawson, and Jan Spruce just failed to win being beaten into second place by some very good bowling.
